Examining the Altador Cup’s Problems

+9   Hey Altador.com, it’s that time of year again… I’m Neon, and I’m back for the first time since last year to share my thoughts about the state of the AC. More specifically I’m addressing some of the Cup’s major issues and offering some suggestions on its improvement. I may update this article slightly as time passes, but this covers pretty much everything. This is lifted straight from one of my petpages, and addressed “to TNT,” but hopefully everything stays clear and formatted. Thanks for reading!   Examining the Altador Cup’s Problems Background: I’m Neon, and I’ve participated actively in the Altador Cup for a very long time now, as one of the leaders of Krawk Island on the boards and as a general AC enthusiast. I’ve spent a lot

ESGs are the Future: A Cam Editorial

+15   Hello peasants, I come to you on a grave day, cheating groups and allstar groups have overrun the Altador Cup and skew its results so much that even an eggplant could predict what happens next. We have begun bitter infighting on the various boards trying to get our opinions across…..opinions on the internet…..pssssh. But I, the glorious, handsome, all around better than any other writer, Cam have a solution, a solution to all of our problems with this Altador Cup, a solution that stops the affects of cheaters and ASGs alike. This solution is ESGs.   Now you may ask yourself, What is a ESGs? What affect do they have? Cam, how are you so awesome? Well let me tell you citizen! A ESGs is as follows: That’s right!

Altador Cup IX Predictions

+15   Hi guys, I’m Platypus/Connor and I will be returning to write for my second year with the site.  Here are my bold predictions for AC IX, justified with short but to the point reasoning.  My top 3 all seem crazy, but they are based on where All star groups both legit and cheating are rumored to be going or where I think they are going. 1. Haunted Woods Rumored to be Codex’s team this year, they will probably dominate the cup.  If Codex’s power remains the same as last year, Haunted Woods will become the first repeat winner.  We will see how the new maxes on games will effect Codex, and see if TNT might have a few other tricks up their sleeve to try and slow down the automatic

New Maximum Sent Games

+26   Hey everyone! I’m Cherry/Jack, and I’ll be writing for altador.com from now on!  I’m here to discuss the new maxes that TNT has implemented. If you go to the Altador Cup FAQ page, there is a new question that discusses how new maximums are going to be implemented. It states: New caps on the number of times you can submit your scores have been instituted for this year’s tournament. Everyone will still be able to strive to achieve their desired rankings and do the utmost to benefit their teams, only now they’ll be able to do so without feeling like they have to spend all day playing. So, if you max out: take a deep breath, feel a sense of satisfaction, and maybe go for a walk around the

Interview With Krell Vitor

+15   Interview With Krell Vitor Hello everyone! My name is Ashley, and I’m here to bring you an exclusive interview with none other than Krell Vitor, captain of the first-ever Altador Cup champions: Team Haunted Woods! Mr. Vitor has been gracious to allow me some of his time; the team is currently taking a quick rest in between some fierce last-minute training for the Cup. Me: Mr. Vitor, thank you so much for being here. Krell: You’re most welcome, and you can just call me Krell; everyone does. Me: Thanks. Well, it seems you’ve all had quite a bit going on, both in the offseason and leading up to the Cup. Krell: (laughs) That’s an understatement. Between Yooyuball practice, the Spooky Food Eating Contest, and Wan’s retirement…well, suffice it to

Day 21: And the Cup Goes To…

+7   Commentary In Alabriss, MD, MI, and KI all managed to sweep their opponents with no errors and no hope for underdogs. In Minitheus, it was a different story. While KD managed to sweep AL, MT most certainly did not fair so well versus TY. TY took two games and drew the third, giving them a win game-wise but ultimately a loss point-wise (MT’s just that good at MSN). HW, however, nearly swept VP, with VP only managing to draw YYB. With that, folks, we can probably just declare the cup complete and hand it over to HW. In the final bracket, BV did the opposite of what they probably should’ve, like we might’ve known. They took BV while MQ side-swept. RI does just barely better than I thought, taking

Day 30 (July 1st): The First, The Last and the Repeat

+11   The Altador Cup always signals summer and this may have been the longest, most dramatic summer so far. And we’ve only just entered July. The official victory ceremony hasn’t been staged yet and the prize shop hasn’t opened for the masses, but we do know the final placements of all eighteen competitors in the ACIX. 9 years ago when the Altador Cup first began, sixteen teams set out to win the trophy after a one thousand year hiatus. In an intense Yooyuball tournament, the Haunted Woods became the first team to hoist the Cup in the modern age. Much has changed since then. Three new games were added to the slate and the five member squad looks a lot different. But nevertheless, the team has finally done it again

Interview with a Member of SOTAC

+13   Hello avid readers, for my last article of the season I’ve been able to get an interview with a member of the Secret Order of the Altador Cup (SOTAC). Because of their rules preventing interviews he only agreed to speak under the condition of anonymity.   You are a member of SOTAC, what attracted you to joining them, and how did they go about recruiting you? Because I cannot reveal who I am I cannot go into detail of how I was recruited; it wasn’t just due to some random neomail I got. But after I got referred to the person in charge of recruiting for the group, I began the process of joining. The process is long as it involves a bunch of steps such as letting them

ACIX Power Rankings (Week 1)

+8   After seven complete days of the Altador Cup, some very surprising results have come. While many projected Roo Island and even Altador themselves to make a surprising run in this year’s Cup, these two teams have instead crumbled and have fallen into the bottom tier. Another shock can be found in team Kreludor’s performance, maintaining top five and top two tier status with a very solid Alabriss 1 showing and a current strong Minitheus 2 position. With that being said, the first week has also engendered some mundane, expected results. Farieland still remains in the bottom tier with Brigthvale, and Terror Mountain continues to have a difficult time moving out of the third tier. Meridell and Krawk Island have also had a challenging time starting their campaign for the

In light of the recent exclusives.

+7   We at Altador.com were given the unique opportunity to find out the backstory of the infamous score-sending group, NeoCodex. The opportunity was given to all writers on our site, but ultimately, Joe (Lady_elegant) took the opportunity to conduct interview, and posted the raw, uncensored result. At Altador.com, we endeavour to bring you the best

Hi, Apparently I Own This Site

+13   Hi, I’m Alex.  Apparently I am the owner of this website *hears gasps and awws as people bow down to me*.  No, please, there’s no need to bow down to me.  I’m just a regular person, like you guys.  Well… maybe not like you guys.  I am the owner after all. A long time ago (in a galaxy far far away) I started this website to give my opinionated views on the Altador Cup.  But over time my interest in the Altador Cup waned, and my free time to devote to the site went down.  But the site still trudged on and morphed into something new.  Something beautiful.  It’s now a site where several fine writers are able to give their opinion on what goes on and I sit
